JABC charted this series on Weeks Dye Works 30 count Havana linen, but you can stitch yours on ANY neutral color, as long as it is dark enough to allow a contrast between the fabric and two of the floss colors that JABC used in the spoon rack--Weeks Dye Works Parchment and Straw. JABC used Crescent Colours, The Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works floss.
JABC suggests sticking close to the 30 count size so the buttons are the proper scale on your finished piece. For 30 count linen, they are suggesting to cut the linen to 18" x 27" which is a fat quarter.
